FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine. Shunt for fluid drainage from the anterior eye chamber comprises a main section having an inlet end portion, an outlet end portion and a lumen forming wall, a removable portion connected to the outlet end portion to block flow through the lumen when present. At that, the removed section provides the rupture seal passing through the outlet end section, and is made with possibility of rupture when the compression force is applied to the shunt. At that, rupture of the removed portion allows the fluid to flow through the lumen from the front chamber into the inlet end portion to the outlet end portion, that when the shunt is located in the eye, the fluid medium is released through the outlet end section at a lower pressure point than in the anterior chamber. Method of shunt manufacture, including: submersion of outlet end section of shunt into layer of liquid or viscous material, so that this material could be connected to outlet end section; and drying said material to form a removable portion. Method of controlling flow rate through an intraocular shunt, involving: introduction of an intraocular shunt into the eye so that the intraocular shunt inlet section is located in the anterior eye chamber, and the intraocular bypass section is located at the lower eye pressure point, wherein the intraocular bypass portion is restricted by the removable portion when inserted into the lower pressure point; and after application of application of force to place of lower pressure for displacement of removed section from outlet section of intraocular shunt to change flow rate through intraocular shunt.
EFFECT: use of this group of inventions enables higher effectiveness of intraocular shunt.
