SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a coating layer material with antimicrobial, anti-candida antifungal properties for use in packaging. To obtain material for an antimicrobial coating layer, a gel based on pectin or gelatine containing from 5 wt % to 15 wt % of disodium octaborate is used.

EFFECT: invention ensures quality and safety of food products, extension of storage life, reduced to minimum level of food wastes and reduced quantity of preserving agents added to food products.
