SUBSTANCE: invention relates to heat generating device and method of heat generation. According to the present invention, a heat generating device and a heat generation method are provided, which enable generation of excess heat. Heat generating device (1) is configured in such a way that hydrogen-based gas is introduced into vessel (2) from hydrogen-based gas inlet line (16), hydrogen is occluded in heat-generating element (5) and then heat-generating element (5) is heated by heater (6) and evacuation is carried out simultaneously. Therefore, heat generating device (1) is able to generate excess heat, which is greater than or equal to heating temperature, allowing hydrogen to penetrate boundary (26) of heterogeneous materials separation between first layer (23) and second layer (24) by quantum diffusion. Thus, heat generating device (1) is able to generate excess heat while enabling possibility of hydrogen penetration through first layer (23) and second layer (24) of multilayer film (25).

EFFECT: technical result is possibility of excessive heat generation.
