FIELD: heat generating devices.
SUBSTANCE: result is achieved by heat generating device, which contains hollow sealed vessel and tubular body provided in hollow part formed by inner surface of sealed vessel. On the outer surface of the tubular body, there is a heat-generating element for generating heat by occlusion and releasing hydrogen contained in the gas supplied to the hollow part. Inner surface of the tubular body forms a flow channel for the fluid medium flowing, which exchanges heat with the heat-generating element. Fluid medium circulation unit has a circulation line which is connected to the fluid medium circulation flow channel between the inner and outer sides of the tubular body. Circulation line incorporates fluid cooling unit. In the circulation line, there is a heating unit for heating the fluid medium, a control unit controlling the temperature reduction of the heat-generating element with the cooled fluid medium, and also controlling the temperature increase of the heat-generating element with the heated fluid medium. Heat-generating element includes a base made of a hydrogen-accumulating metal, a hydrogen-accumulating alloy or a proton conductor, and a multilayer film provided on the basis. Multilayer film has first layer made of hydrogen-accumulating metal or hydrogen-accumulating alloy, and second layer made of hydrogen-accumulating metal or hydrogen-accumulating alloy, which differs from that in the first layer, or from ceramics. Each of the layers has a thickness of less than 1000 nm.
EFFECT: cheap, clean and safe source of energy.
