FIELD: antenna equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to antenna engineering, particularly to methods of determining antenna ellipticity coefficient. Technical result is achieved by the fact that the first and second AFD are converted to the first and second antennae, respectively, by adding radiowaves emitters whose inputs are connected to the outputs of the respective polarisers, distance r between antennas is set proceeding from dynamic range of used meters, r = 0, gain coefficient is measured between identical outputs of polarization selectors of the first and second antennae, the second antenna is rotated about a common axis of symmetry by ninety degrees and the gain coefficient is measured, between orthogonal outputs of polarization selectors of antennas, rotation of the second antenna around a common axis of symmetry to obtain a maximum value of the gain coefficient, a gain coefficient is obtained for the selected distance between the antennas r, coefficient of polarization matching and on its basis an ellipsoidity coefficient of the analyzed antenna is calculated.
EFFECT: technical result consists in determination of ellipticity coefficient (SE) of the whole set of antenna elements, with polarization close to circular, and accuracy sufficient for guaranteed polarization compaction (decompaction) of signals of satellite communication lines with polarization seal.
