FIELD: antenna measurements.

SUBSTANCE: invention serves to determine the polarization parameters of antennas. The result is achieved by the method for determining the polarization parameters of antennas that includes installation of the transmitting and receiving antennas in the initial position, in which the antennas are directed towards each other, and their longitudinal axes are coaxial. Electromagnetic field is emitted by the transmitting antenna, the field is received the receiving antenna and the amplitude and phase of the signal are measured at the output of the receiving antenna, while in the process of receiving the electromagnetic field, the receiving antenna is turned around the longitudinal axis, the maximum and minimum values of the signal amplitude at the output of the receiving antenna are measured, the direction of the signal phase change is recorded, after which the direction of rotation of the electric field strength vector and the coefficient ellipticity of the polarization ellipse of each antenna are determined. The method differs in that one pair of identical antennas is used, while the direction of rotation of the electric field strength vector of the antennas and the sign of the effective ellipticity coefficient are determined taking into account change of the phase of the signal at the output of the receiving antenna in the process of its turn around the longitudinal axis counter clockwise.

EFFECT: acceleration and simplification of the process of determining the antenna polarization parameters.
