FIELD: mining.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mining, namely, to ventilation of working space of open pits, in particular, for ventilation of deep funnel-shaped open pits of diamond deposits. Proposed method comprises directing air flows through channels formed by rock dumps, making channels converging towards pit. In the pit space by erection of wind-control structures on the air movement path the aerial stratum of the courier surface is changed, surface of these structures is exposed to movement of wind flow for supply of fresh air into quarry, directing wind flow down along spiral along pit edge along chord of its contour. Position of chord is determined by angle of pit edge on vertical projection along chord line equal to or close to angle of air flow opening.
EFFECT: use of the present invention improves safety of mining operations on deep and funnel-shaped open pits, and also reduces downtime of mining operations in conditions of gas contamination and dust content of pit working space.
