FIELD: mining.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mining and can be used in open-pit mining for ventilation of preferably deep open pits. Method for ventilation of open pits includes creation of air flow in open pit space by directed action of ventilation units generating free turbulent jets, control of flow and maintenance of jet range required for removal of contaminated air outside the pit. Ventilation units are installed along the pit walls and at the pit bottom along its central axis. Directed flow is created along the pit walls by means of spiraling air masses, and a directed vertical flow is created in the pit center by creating a pressure difference. Speed of the directed air flow washing the pit walls is controlled by changing the air flow rate and pressure by the ventilation units.
EFFECT: simplified ventilation of open pits, reduced energy and material costs and increased efficiency of ventilation.
