FIELD: timber industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to timber industry, in particular, to billets of assortments at selective felling. Gripper-cutting device (1) extends into the gap between trees and young stock left to grow, and moves from bottom to top, measuring assortments up to 2/3 of height of tree (2) with last measuring assortment within tolerance, providing full length of last measuring assortment. Remaining vertex part of the tree is cut off and turned by the gripping-shearing device relative to the axis of the manipulator to the horizontal position and is brought to skidding fibre (5) along the trajectory of the back trajectory of the manipulator extension and craning if necessary. Then the manipulator with the gripping-cutting device returns to the top edge of the tree and cuts the measured measuring cuts from the top assortments, including the measuring base assortment. At that, the cut assortments are moved to the horizontal position parallel to the ground surface and are stacked.
EFFECT: higher quality of sawn sorts.
