FIELD: physics; transportation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and a device for correction of a position error in an automobile with assistance in driving. Method for correcting a position error of a vehicle with drive support, comprising a controller which corrects an error, emerging between vehicle position and target route during trip with drive support. Method comprises detecting the lane boundary on which the vehicle is moving and comparing mutual positions between the lane boundary which has been detected, and destination route on map. Correction of target route with displacement in transverse direction is performed in situations, when target route is within prescribed distance from lane border, or in situations when target route is on opposite side of traffic lane border from vehicle.
EFFECT: higher safety of vehicle driving is achieved.
