FIELD: heating.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electric heaters of fluid media, in particular to flow and submersible electric water heaters. Electric heater comprises heating element with resistive conductor made of thin resistive tape; wherein the cross-sectional area of the resistive strip exceeds twice the perimeter of the cross-section of the round wire of equal cross-sectional area. Resistive tape is equipped with a shell from an flattened tube, the cross-section shape of which is close to the cross-section of the resistive tape, and the contour of the tubular shell has the shape of a spiral. Resistive tape is arranged along the tubular spiral contour so that both wide sides of the tape are parallel to the flattened sides of the tubular shell and form, respectively, outer and inner heat-emitting surfaces.

EFFECT: invention increases heat efficiency and minimizes heat losses of the heater.
