FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering, particularly to devices converting electrical energy to heat. Tubular electric heater comprises outer tubular shell (1), central current-conducting electrode (2), sealing flange (3) with electrically isolated from tubular shell output (4) of central current-conducting electrode, fuel element (5) in form of twisted around axis of central current-conducting electrode metal sheet forming in section of abrasive spiral, space between turns of which is filled with powdered dielectric (6). Feed conductor with linear potential is connected to lead. Tubular shell is grounded through sealing flange (N). In this case through fuel element 3 current flows and heat releases. At that, voltage drop along length of spiral fuel element is proportional to length of section.
EFFECT: invention increases service life and operational reliability of heater.
