FIELD: railway transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway machinery and can be used in running coupled freight trains and covers escaping emergent conditions. The proposed method consists in controlling longitudinal forces acting on locomotives' automatic couplings. Given their departure from preset tolerance, an instruction is automatically generated to appropriately change the traction of the hauling locomotive and driven locomotive. Then the driven locomotive brake main line is discharged at the rate of emergency braking for over 0.6 kgf/cm2. In case expanding longitudinal forces exceed preset value, the driven locomotive automatic coupling uncouples the driven locomotive from the first train cars.
EFFECT: expanded performances allowing minimisation of accident consequences.
