FIELD: metallurgy of non-ferrous and noble metals.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of producing pure silver. Method comprises chemical dissolution of a silver-containing material in the presence of hydrogen peroxide, separation of insoluble residue and separation of obtained silver solution. Dissolution of the starting material is carried out at pH 9–10 and temperature of 20–30 °C in solution containing 50–150 g/l of ammonium sulphate and 10–50 g/l of hydrogen peroxide.
EFFECT: method enables to exclude release of toxic gases and transition into solution of platinum metals.
