FIELD: drying equipment employing inert particles.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to dryers with an active hydrodynamic regime, designed for drying crushed plant materials in a suspended swirling layer of inert particles, and can be used in the production of food products intended for long-term storage, medicines, etc. An inert carrier for drying shredded plant materials in a suspended swirling layer is made of a polymer material. Spherical particles of the inert made of polymer material have conical protrusions, and the internal volume of individual particles to ensure polydispersity of the inert by weight is made of foamed polymer of various density within 200 - 1020 kg / m3.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at intensifying the convective drying process by increasing the specific surface area of heat and mass transfer, the specific amount of transferred wet material, as well as improving the quality of the distribution of the wet material over the surface of the inert carrier and the conditions for removing the dried matter.
