FIELD: welding technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for preparing a sheet (1) with a preliminary coating prior to welding said sheet with another sheet and a device for carrying out said method. A sheet (1) with a preliminary coating containing a metal substrate (3) having a preliminary coating on at least one of its sides is provided. At least one side of the sheet (1) with a preliminary coating shall be removed by laser ablation. The ablation is carried out on a plant (20). The plant (20) comprises at least one protective element (26) containing a protective surface (28). During the ablation phase, the protective surface (28) is in contact with a sheet (1) with a preliminary coating in a contact area so arranged that it is aligned with a laser beam (22) when the laser beam (22) removes a section of the preliminary coating. The plane tangent to said protective surface (28) in the contact area forms a two-sided angle with the plane (12) of the sheet (1) with the preliminary coating, wherein said angle is less than 90°.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improving the quality of the welded parts by preventing the material from accumulating from the preliminary coating on the edge of the removal zone which generates a growth of the material from the preliminary coating on said edge.
