FIELD: radar ranging.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to active radar and can be used in systems for identification of objects equipped with radar transponders, according to target designations from external systems. Radar interrogator with a system of active phased arrays comprises a series-connected receiving device, a response signal decoder and a response signal pack evaluation device and generation of criterion, series-connected encoder and transmitter, as well as secondary power source, outputs of differentiated voltage of which are connected to component parts of interrogator. Interrogator further comprises an antenna control and selection device, an antenna-switching device, a compensation antenna for screening signals coming from lateral directions, as well as a system of active phased antenna arrays, which includes N antennas, which provide a set of summary-difference radiation patterns and installed on an aircraft so that their sectors of operation at angles mutually overlap and provide a given total angular working sector.

EFFECT: technical result is to increase the range of recognition and range of angles, broader functional capabilities of radar interrogators, as well as in providing electromagnetic compatibility during simultaneous operation of interrogators and onboard radar stations on radiation.
