SUBSTANCE: level converter for a vehicle control device is proposed, which comprises a first supply voltage port (110), a second supply voltage port (120), an output port (OUT) and an input port (IN). In addition, the level converter contains a first switch (S1) for switching the first current circuit between the first supply voltage port (110) and the output port (OUT) and a second switch (S2) for switching the second current circuit between the second supply voltage port (120) and output port (OUT). The first switch (S1) and the second switch (S2), reacting to different levels at the input port (IN), are switched in such a way that if there is a first level at the input port (IN), then the first switch (S1) is closed, and the second the key (S2) is opened, and if there is a second level, the first key (S1) is opened and the second key (S2) is closed.
EFFECT: saving computer resources by using one signal line for level conversion.
