FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for non-destructive testing of materials and articles and can be used in ultrasonic flaw detection and medical diagnostics. Essence of the invention is that the controlled acoustic focusing device consists of an acoustic plane-convex lens formed by a thin-walled rigid shell filled with a liquid crystal and placed inside magnetic coil, wherein lens is made in form of meso-sized particle with characteristic size of not less than λ, where λ is wavelength of used radiation, and the filled substance of the shell has speed of sound relative to speed of sound in immersion medium, lying in range from 0.5 to 0.83.
EFFECT: technical result is possibility of controlling focusing properties of mesosized focusing device in acoustics with focusing of radiation into region with sub-diffraction size by non-contact method.
