FIELD: nuclear power plant safety.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for emergency shutdown of a reactor based on the state of signals of devices important for the safety of a nuclear power plant (NPP). The method comprises - at the first stage distributing the signals of the NPP safety devices into analog and discrete ones, at the second stage collecting the values of the analog signals, at the third stage collecting the values of the discrete signals, and at the fourth stage the reactor emergency stop algorithm is carried out based on the signal state values. Real-time monitoring of the status of device signals at monitoring points important for the safety of nuclear power plants is carried out. In the event of a failure of several device signals at one monitoring point, the shutdown of the reactor is automatically initiated based on the number of failure signals to prevent a decrease in the category of the protective function of the NPP’s reactor unit (RU) due to failure of device signals in order to raise the level of the NPP’s operational safety.
EFFECT: technical result is to secure an emergency shutdown of the reactor, real-time monitoring of the state of the device signals at the monitoringl points important for the safety of the NPP, and the provision of an automatic shutdown of the reactor in case of failure of several device signals at one monitoring point.
