FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to electrical traction systems of vehicles. Electric power generation system comprises a diesel engine operatively connected to a three-phase current generator, wherein the generator is functionally connected to the intermediate electric circuit. Intermediate electric circuit is functionally connected to device-consumer of electric energy. Passive rectifier and pulse rectifier are connected in parallel to intermediate electric circuit. At that, voltage (uZK) of intermediate electric circuit is provided in certain way by passive rectifier and pulse rectifier. Preset value of voltage (uZKmin) of intermediate electric circuit is supplied to pulse rectifier. Certain portion of voltage (uZK) of the intermediate electric circuit is provided by means of a pulse rectifier in a certain operating range. Level of voltage (uZK) of the intermediate electric circuit exceeding the specified value (uZK_min) depends solely on the number of revolutions of the diesel engine. Also disclosed is method of power generation system operation.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of electric power generation system.
