FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: diesel-electric drive system contains generator (4) with two polyphase winding (22, 24), diesel engine (2) and alternating current rectifier (6) in buffer voltage circuit with two autonomous rectifiers (10, 12) of pulse current which are connected from the generator side to the above windings (22, 24) and from the other side they are interconnected by means of breaking resistance device (30). According to the invention braking resistance device (30) consists of two series-connected resistors (48, 50) with resistance values equal to half of resistance of the braking resistance device (30), breaking resistor and double-pole switching device (54) connected from input side with connection point (52) of two series-connected resistors (48, 50) respectively. Thus self-load-test with controlled load moment can be performed for this diesel-electric drive system in order to control power of the diesel motor (2); at that no overloading of powerful autonomous semiconductor rectifiers (10, 12) of pulse current takes place from the generator side.
EFFECT: excluding overloading of powerful autonomous semiconductor rectifiers of pulse current from the generator side during self-load-test.
