FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of biotechnology. Invention is a method for increasing content of individual components of essential oil and its content in plants of narrow-leaved lavender (Lavandula angustifolia Mill.), involving the use of DNA-based preparations selectively acting on plants of a certain type, and consists in treatment with aqueous solutions of antisense DNA fragments of the linalool synthase gene of lavender plants of lentils in the full bloom phase in concentration of 0.15 g/l with a rate of consumption of 100 ml of solution on a plant bush in the phase of full flowering with diameter of 1 m for 4–5 days before mowing of plants.
EFFECT: obtained results demonstrate promising application of antisense DNA fragments of the gene of linalool synthase of lavender plants in agricultural practice in order to increase output of essential oil and content of linalcine acetate in it when growing narrow-leaved lavender.
