FIELD: polymer materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of polymer materials and concerns vacuum film packaging with a tear-resistant upper sheet. A packaged product surrounded by a tightly-fitting film package is described. The tightly-fitting film package has a substrate and an implosion-resistant thermoplastic upper sheet. The upper sheet corresponds to both the upper surface of the product and the part of the upper surface of the substrate that is not covered by the product. The thermoplastic upper sheet contains an ethylene and alpha-olefin copolymer in an amount of 55% to 85% by total weight of the upper sheet and/or a mixture of an ethylene and alpha-olefin copolymer and a cyclic olefin copolymer. A close-fitting film package containing an implosion-resistant top sheet is also described.
EFFECT: invention provides the creation of implosion-resistant packaging for food products.
