FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of continuous basalt fibers, device and melting furnace design. Proposed device comprises one and more bins with proportioners and burners connected with heat exchangers-recuperators mounted in feeder behind smoke extraction manifold. Melting furnace increased efficiency results from mounting melting baths in the area of basalt loading and melting, elongating furnace fire room with room height-to-width ratio making 1/2-1/5, constricting fire room by smoke extraction manifold and connecting two feeders directly to the furnace, feeders being arranged perpendicular to furnace axis. Feeder two hoses accommodate two, four, six or more slit or jet spinneret feeders though which primary continuous fibers are drawn and wound on reels by winding machine.
EFFECT: reduced power consumption, higher efficiency.
