FIELD: waste handling.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to a method for handling municipal solid waste, including solving problems of waste recycling. Waste sorting method involves capturing objects from a conveyor by robotic manipulators controlled by object recognition systems containing devices for scanning, spectrometry and detection of sorted objects by comparing data with images in computer software. At the same time, reference marks are made on the conveyor along the length of the web with an equal distance between them in the form of selected lines perpendicular to the conveyor web, and the recognition system contains a subroutine for determining and registering the coordinates of the center of the recognized object in relation to the edge of the conveyor and one of the reference marks on the conveyor.

EFFECT: increase of the speed of the process of recognizing objects on the conveyor and moving these objects to the appropriate drives, increasing the reliability of information transfer from the system for identifying individual objects on the conveyor to robotic manipulators that perform its targeted movement.
