FIELD: waste treatment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of automated sorting of municipal solid waste, in particular used containers made of plastic, metal and glass. The automated complex for sorting used containers includes a transport conveyor belt equipped with a recognition system based on neural networks, a control unit and a sorting unit. The automated system for sorting used containers additionally includes a system for pre-sorting containers by specified classes, placed in front of the recognition system. The neural networks of the recognition system are trained to recognize the specified features of the classes of the accepted containers. The control unit is connected to the recognition modules of both systems and is designed with the ability to make decisions on sorting and separating containers. The sorting unit contains receptacles with two compartments and is designed with the possibility of dividing the container flow into two by means of pneumatic nozzles.

EFFECT: productivity of the complex and the quality of sorting are improved, as well as the functionality is expanded.
