FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: present group of inventions relates to medicine, namely to pediatrics and dermatology, and relates to a method for assessing the condition of an infant's skin and a device representing an analytical system including a device for determining lipids, a device for mass analysis and a computing device. Using such a device, the quantitative content of ceramide components 1 and 2 (see Table 1) in the stratum corneum of the infant's skin is determined, the ratio of these components is calculated, and the assessment of the skin condition is carried out based on comparing the obtained ratios with the same ratios of ceramide components from the stratum corneum of healthy babies’ skin.
EFFECT: method provides an assessment of the skin condition in infants at the molecular level, which makes it possible to detect pathological changes in the absence of visible skin changes.
