SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of hydrocarbon extraction by hydraulic fracturing using ceramic proppants of magnesium silicate composition. The ceramic proppant contains oxides of magnesium, silicon, iron as the main components and has crystalline phases in the structure formed by these components and represented by crystalline modifications of silicon dioxide (quartz and / or cristobalite), magnesium silicate (forsterite, enstatite, protoenstatite and / or clinoenstatite) and iron-containing oxides (maghemite, magnetite, hematite, wustite, and / or magnesioferrite). The ratio of crystalline modifications of silicon dioxide, magnesium silicate and iron-containing oxides in the proppant is, wt%: crystalline modifications of silicon dioxide 0.1–12.5; crystalline modifications of iron-containing oxides 0.1–7.4; crystalline modifications of magnesium silicate - the rest.
EFFECT: reduced water absorption of the proppant.
