FIELD: mining.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to drilling equipment, specifically to design of bits for drilling underground rocks. Cutting element for equipping of drill bit consists of metal bearing base with diameter of 10 to 30 mm and fixed on it cutting layer from superhard composite material with thickness of not less than 1 mm. Cutting layer is made of diamond grains, cubic boron nitride or their mixture with size of not less than 100 mcm with their content in cutting layer of 50–75 vol. %, interconnected by three-component metal binder based on copper and two metals from group of tin, titanium, nickel, manganese. Content of copper in binder is not less than 60 wt. %, and content of each of the other two metals is 5–20 wt. %.
EFFECT: disclosed technical solution provides creation of a cutting element for equipping drill bits, having high heat resistance, cutting ability and provides higher efficiency of its use in making bits by expanding range of dimensions of element and reducing labour intensity of its production.
