FIELD: optoelectronic equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optoelectronic engineering, namely to methods for monitoring the characteristics of devices that generate laser radiation in the mid-infrared wavelength range from 4 to 9 microns. The method for rejecting quantum cascade lasers includes supplying a laser with a rectangular current pulse with an amplitude corresponding to the operating current, with a level duration at half of the maximum amplitude in the range of 50-1000 ns, transmitting the laser output through a spectral device with a dispersive element, measuring the dependence output from a spectral device with a dispersive element of the laser radiation on time at equal spectral intervals, determination of the heating rate of the active region of the laser from the dependence of the intensity of the output laser radiation on time and wavelength of generation of the longitudinal mode of the cavity, rejection of quantum-cascade lasers with a heating rate of the active region of more than 0 , 05 K / ns.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at expanding the field of application by rejecting lasers designed in pulsed pumping mode.
