FIELD: electrical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering, namely to the heat accumulator containing the electrochemical elements unit equipped with the solid layers of the anode, cathode and electrolyte located between them, limited from the external side by the body with heat insulation. Unit of electrochemical elements is placed in a cylindrical housing from stainless steel with a cover and current terminals of the battery; at that, layers of insulation are made on the inner side and end sides of the housing, and solid layers of heating elements are inserted between the electrochemical elements, between which there are current leads. Electrochemical elements unit consists of two parallel sections of 17 electrochemical elements and has diameter of 70 mm, the battery is equipped with a fixing element in the form of a brace and a support disk. Electrochemical cells block diameter makes 70 mm. Thermal battery provides rated discharge currents of 11 A and more, capacity of not less than 14,000 A at voltage of 20–36 V.
EFFECT: technical result of invention is increase of resistance of electrolyte of thermal battery to spreading and absorption of cathode material.
