FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: set of inventions relates to medicine, in particular to a system for delivering a fluid medium to the body region of a patient and/or for extracting a fluid medium from the body region of a patient, which comprises an interface device, and to a method for controlling said system. The inventive interface device for a fluid medium comprises a peripheral base element and an element for transmitting a fluid medium which is hermetically connected to the base element and forms a central section of the device. The element for transmitting a fluid medium comprises a front plate with a primary surface for contact with a region of the patient’s body fluid and a secondary surface opposite it. The counter plate of the element for transmitting a fluid medium is hermetically put on the secondary surface of the front plate and forms a buffer volume between said plates. The matrix of the microchannels of the front plate forms a passage for a fluid medium between the buffer volume and the primary surface. The holes in the microchannels are between 0.2 and 10 mcm. The element port for the transmission of fluid medium ensures the delivery of fluid medium to the buffer volume and/or the extraction of fluid medium from the buffer volume. The system for delivering a fluid medium comprises an interface device, a means for storing a fluid medium and a means for transmitting a fluid medium for the controlled delivery of a fluid medium to a buffer volume and for extracting a fluid medium from a buffer volume via a port. The system is capable of running a washing medium through a buffer volume and through a matrix of microchannels, extracting the fluid of the patient’s body through a matrix of microchannels, and delivering a therapeutic agent to the patient’s body. The method for controlling the system involves delivering a washing medium to a buffer volume in order to maintain an excess pressure relative to the patient’s main pressure, when the system does not remove the patient’s body fluid and does not deliver a therapeutic agent to the patient’s body, thereby preventing the flow from the patient’s body region through microchannels to the buffer volume.
EFFECT: said invention enables extracting blood plasma and other liquid media from the patient’s body in a continuous and reliable manner for a long time and delivering fluid media such as therapeutic or prophylactic agents to the patient’s bloodstream.
