FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of ferrous metallurgy, namely to steel with controlled austenitic transformation during operation, used for hot pressing dies of copper-based alloys at temperatures of 450-750°C. Steel contains components in the following ratio, wt%: carbon 0.42-0.49, silicon 1.07-1.28, manganese 3.83-4.16, chromium 1.55-1.89, nickel 2, 39-2.73, molybdenum 2.04-2.22, niobium 0.12-0.18, titanium 0.33-0.42, vanadium 0.55-0.71, the rest iron.
EFFECT: degree of strain hardening of the die steel increases during the operation of the tool while maintaining high strength properties in the austenitic state at a temperature of 750°C, increased stability of supercooled austenite and increased durability of the dies.
