FIELD: neurosurgery.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for non-invasive assessment of intracranial pressure in acute traumatic intracranial supratentorial hemorrhages. A study of the brain is carried out by the method of tomographic scanning, measurement of the diameters of the sheaths of the right and left optic nerves on the scanned image and determination of their average size. Also, MSCT examination of the brain is carried out in the first 72 hours after injury and in the patient's supine position. Then, on the MSCT image, the diameters of the sheaths of the right and left optic nerves are measured in the area of the uveoscleral ring at a distance of 3 mm posterior to the membranes of the eyeball. In addition, the minimum distance between the heads of the caudate nuclei is measured at the level of the visualized bodies of the anterior horns of the lateral ventricles of the brain. After that, the value of the optic-ventricular index of intracranial pressure is determined by the formula: OVIicp = ONSDave. ×80/DHCN-23, where OVIcp is the optical-ventricular index of intracranial pressure, mmHg, ONSDave is the value of the average right and left optic nerves sheaths diameter, mm; DHCN - the distance between the heads of the caudate nuclei at the level of the visualized bodies of the anterior horns of the lateral ventricles of the brain, mm.
EFFECT: method allows non-invasive determination of the value of intracranial pressure due to the proposed formula.
