FIELD: ophthalmology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ophthalmology. In the eyeball in the projection of the flat part of the ciliary body, transconjunctival scleral punctures are performed. A needle of an ultrasonic vitreo-tom and an endo-illuminator are installed and a constant supply of an irrigation solution is provided. Then, using ultrasonic vibrations with an amplitude of 5-20 microns at the end of the ultrasonic vitreotome needle, the posterior hyaloid membrane around the macular zone is dissected. An islet of the posterior hyaloid membrane is formed, fixed to the foveal fossa. Then using vacuum aspiration of 100-200 mmHg. Art. the islet of the posterior hyaloid membrane is separated from the foveal fossa.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to prevent damage to the structures of the posterior part of the eye when eliminating vitreomacular adhesion by reducing the traction effect on the retina when cutting and removing the posterior hyaloid membrane.
