FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely ophthalmology. Scleral ports 25-27 Ga are installed, subtotal vitrectomy is performed, the posterior hyaloid, epiretinal, and inner boundary membranes are removed. In this case, vitrectomy is performed through two scleral ports: one of which is intended for a vitrectomy cutter, the other for a chandelier combined with an irrigation flow.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to reduce tissue traumatization, reduce the phototoxic effect of light on the retina by using a mercury or xenon-mercury chandelier and maximally distance the illuminator from the macular zone, which contributes to the rapid rehabilitation of the patient in the postoperative period and reduces the risk of developing light retinopathy.
