FIELD: geophysical methods.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of geophysical methods for monitoring the state of the columns of gas wells during their operation. A method is proposed for using elastic standing waves to detect the loss of stability of gas well strings as well as to assess the integrity of gas well strings and the ratio of acoustic stiffness of the top and bottom of the well.
EFFECT: diagnostic criteria have been established for determining the stability and integrity of well strings using the method of identifying standing waves from the accumulated amplitude spectra obtained during observations on the strings of gas wells, control of the length of the gas well string and confident identification of the stability loss of the object under study is achieved.
