SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical technology, in particular to a device and a method for detecting skin luster. To enable the detection of skin luster in a simple and effective manner, preferably with an available user device, the device consists of an illumination unit for illuminating the skin area with blinking frequency, an imaging unit for acquiring images of the skin area with imaging frequency that is different from the said blinking frequency, and a processing unit for processing the acquired images and detecting the amount of luster in the skin area from at least one partial image of the skin area when illuminated by the illumination unit and at least one partial image of the skin area without illumination by the said illumination unit.
EFFECT: invention helps to detect skin luster easily.
