SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the mining, processing and metallurgical and chemical industries. An automatic system for sampling from gravity flows moving along open chutes is disclosed, comprising a fixed frame installed above the chute and fixed with guy wires; sampling knife; a flushing system and a sampling knife control system. In this case, the system also contains a device for fastening the mechanism of forced immersion of the mobile sampling device into a gravity flow; a movable carriage placed in a fixed guide frame with sampling knives fixed on it; drive shaft with rolling bearings; driving device; a device for providing a two-stage sequential automatic flushing with purging of transport paths for sampling and a path for delivering samples to the measurement site; electric-pneumatic control cabinet for the system in an automatic cycle.

EFFECT: invention provides automatic representative discrete sampling of a limited volume of samples from technological streams of various productivity with a varying layer depth.
