FIELD: nanotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nanotechnology, namely to methods for producing new biphasic ceramic materials for the needs of thermoelectric generation. A method for producing biphasic thermoelectric ceramics includes preparing a powder system from initial powders of strontium carbonate SrCO3 and titanium dioxide TiO2 by their combined high-energy grinding in ethanol, annealing and drying, after which the resulting material is sintered under mechanical stress. The powder system is formed from submicron strontium carbonate powder SrCO3 and nanosized powder of titanium dioxide TiO2, taken in an amount that provides a ratio of the phases formed after sintering strontium titanate SrTiO3 and titanium dioxide TiO2 in the form of rutile by volume 1:1. Drying is carried out at a temperature of 60-80°C for 24-48 hours, followed by granulation of the powder system through a sieve with an effective mesh size of 75 microns and followed by annealing in air at 600-800°C for 2-4 hours. The resulting material is subjected to reaction spark plasma sintering at an external pressure of 21.5 MPa at a heating rate of 55°C/min to 1200-1250°C and held at this temperature for 5 minutes. Annealing is optionally carried out after sintering.
EFFECT: obtaining biphasic thermoelectric ceramics SrTiO3/TiO2 with a uniform distribution of phases in the entire volume, saturated with interfaces between two phases, where the formation of a two-dimensional electron gas is possible.
