FIELD: fire retardant compositions.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to one-pack fire retardant compositions based on alkali metal silicates. The proposed composition includes sodium silicate Na2O(SiO2)n as a binder, magnesium hydrosilicate 3MgO⋅2SiO2⋅2H2O as a mineral filler and potassium stearate C17H35COOK as a surfactant with the following ratio of components, wt%: sodium silicate - 48; magnesium hydrosilicate - 40; potassium stearate - 12.
EFFECT: increasing the fire-retardant properties of the composition, reducing its consumption, the thickness of the applied layer as well as ensuring the environmental friendliness and general availability of this composition.
