METHOD OF MAMMARY GLAND DIAGNOSTICS AT PRIMARY STAGE OF MANUAL MAMMARY GLAND EXAMINATION Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC A61B5/107

Abstract RU 2746062 C1

FIELD: medicine; mammalogy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medicine, namely to mammalogy, specifically to the differential diagnostics of the mammary gland. Palpation of the mammary gland is performed in two stages. At the first stage, the phalanges of the fingers are pressed through the mammary gland to the chest and the fingers are shifted together with the skin to determine the uniformity of the mammary gland tissue, performing manipulation over the entire area of the mammary gland. At the second stage, the thumbs are placed on the chest, and the other four fingers grab a piece of tissue, and by sorting through the fingers, move the fold along the mammary gland. If the tissue inside the mammary gland is dense, then the thickness of the fold increases. The results of a bimanual study of the mammary gland density are evaluated in points according to a five-point system. The density of each of the mammary glands, the detected local density or local increase in the fold more than twice in comparison with other parts of this mammary gland is estimated at 4 points. Dense heterogeneous tissue, when it is not possible to conduct a study with a "fold", is estimated at 3 points. Dense tissue in the upper-outer quadrant with contouring of the edge of the gland and an average uniform density of the remaining quadrants, with a fold of 4-5 cm, is estimated at 2 points. The uniform density over the entire gland with a fold of 3-4 cm is estimated at 1 point. A soft uniform tissue on both sides, with a fold of 1-3 cm, which is freely rolled in all quadrants, is rated at 0 points. At the same time, a score of 3-4 points during a manual examination of the mammary gland is a reason for conducting an extraordinary examination.

EFFECT: method allows systematizing the palpatory examination of the mammary gland with an assessment in points for dynamic control at the primary stage of manual examination in the differential diagnostics of the mammary gland.
