FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture, in particular to a method for increasing the growth rate of calves. The essence of the method is that calves of 14-day-old age are injected with a mixture of extracts of Leuzea safflower (Leuzea carthamoides) and great nettle (Urtica dioica L.) for 14 days 1 time a day for 30 minutes before feeding. The extract of Leuzea safflower (Leuzea carthamoides) is used at a dose of 0.125 mg/kg of live weight of the calf, and the extract of great nettle (Urtica dioica L.) is used at a dose of 7.0 mg/kg of live weight of the calf. The extracts are pre-dissolved in boiled water at a room temperature in a ratio of 1:10.
EFFECT: use of the invention will increase the growth rate of newborn calves.
