FIELD: removal and processing of solid wastes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of environmental technologies, in particular to reclamation of lands containing toxic wastes in places of their location, including solid domestic wastes and industrial wastes. Method involves coating in series with protective layers consisting of a clay mineral, a polyacrylamide polymer with further tilling of the surface with sowing of grasses. Wastes are laid in waste. First, lower protective layer of substrate is placed from a mixture of: bentonite with 2–5 wt. % of polyacrylamide polymer, natural sand and water in ratio, wt. %: bentonite:sand:water = (10–15):(75–80):10 with thickness of up to 1 m with subsequent rolling of said mixture to thickness of 30–40 cm and applying, on top of layer of substrate, layer from overburden of sand extraction pit with thickness of up to 20 cm with tilling surface by sowing perennial grasses in following ratio, wt. %: meadow fescue - 40, wheat grass - 40, red clover - 20.
EFFECT: method provides reclamation of contaminated lands and dumps of toxic wastes and restoration of vegetation and soil cover on contaminated sites to obtain a stable protective waterproof coating in the form of a substrate of natural materials and a fertile layer of man-made non-toxic materials using a grass mixture, which ensures high productivity when used during reclamation.
