FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine and namely to surgery. A patient is injected with cefazolin or cefotaxime in a single dose into the area of the surgical incision. Cefazolin or cefotaxime is dissolved in advance in a 0.5% solution of novocaine. Exposure is maintained for 5-7 minutes before the start of the operation. At the end of the surgical intervention, the remains of this solution are injected into the soft tissues of the operating wound before it is sewn up.
EFFECT: method increases the effectiveness of antibiotic prophylaxis by increasing the concentration of the antibacterial drug in the area of the proposed surgical intervention for a longer period in the perioperative period when using single doses, eliminates the side effects of the drug.
