SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine. A joint for knee orthosis includes a first joint arm and the second arm of the joint which are pivotable relative to each other around a pivot axis, and a locking device that can be brought into the unlocked position and the locked position. The joint contains an actuator, and when that is triggered, the locking device is transferred from the locked position into the unlocked position. The locking device in the locked position blocks the rotation of the first joint arm relative to the second joint arm in the first direction of rotation, regardless of the angle of rotation between the first arm of the joint and the second arm of the joint, provided that this angle of rotation lies in a predetermined area, and allows rotation in the first direction of rotation provided that this angle of rotation lies outside this predetermined area. A contact surface is located on the first arm of the joint, which contacts a locking element movably located on the second arm of the joint when this locking device is in the locked position. Contact of the locking element with the contact surface prevents the first joint arm from pivoting relative to the second joint arm in the first pivot direction. The locking element is a cam movably mounted in the guide or an eccentrically mounted trunnion, pin or cylinder. The contact surface is made eccentrically relative to the pivot axis.

EFFECT: invention provides increased comfort of an orthopedic technical device, while preventing unintentional short-term turning in the first direction of rotation and annoying noises.
