FIELD: high-temperature electroplating.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to high-temperature electroplating, namely, to the electrolytic precipitation of niobium, it can be used for coating substrates made of a conductive material. The method involves the electrolysis of the melt at an anode current density of 0.02 A/cm2 and a cathode current density of 0.05-0.1 A/cm2 in an argon atmosphere. The electrolysis is carried out in the temperature range from 700 to 750ºC in a molten electrolyte containing potassium bromide, cesium bromide and niobium bromide containing niobium from 2 to 5 wt.% in terms of metal.
EFFECT: proposed is production of high-quality, solid niobium coatings with high current output.
