FIELD: electroplating. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to applying tantalum and niobium electroplated coatings from salt melts and consists in that, before article to be coated is immersed into electrolyte melt containing refractory and alkali metal fluorides and eutectic mixture of sodium, potassium, and cesium chlorides, article is heated to operation temperature and alternate or constant current is passed through electrolyte, current parameters being such as to provide quantity of electricity in anode (Qa) and cathode (Qc) parts of electroplating circuit to meet relationship: O≤Qa/Qc<0,9. Mass of electrolyte should exceed mass of article by 5 or more times. Open porosity of coatings obtained does not exceed 0.001%, and adhesion power to substrate attains 8 kg/sq.mm. EFFECT: improved homogeneity of coatings. 3 cl, 2 dwg, 1 tbl, 20 ex
