FIELD: gas and oil industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to device for assessing corrosive wear rate of the inner wall of pipelines and processing equipment. Invention can be used in oil, gas, chemical and other industries. The witness sample is made in the form of a washer, the inner surface of which has a concave shape with a radius of curvature corresponding to the radius of curvature of the inner surface of the pipeline, the sample is placed in a boss with a hole welded to the outer surface of the pipeline, while the lower part of the witness sample is set at the same level with the inner wall of the pipeline.
EFFECT: small size of the witness sample and its small mass allow measuring with high accuracy the loss of mass of the witness sample during its exposure, which means with high accuracy to control the corrosion rate.
